The short version. Your selfies and the places you save never leave your iPhone. We cannot see them, we do not store them, and there is no account to sign into. The only thing we ever receive is a small, anonymous count of which screens get used — never a photo, never a location, never your name or email.
Take One is made by Modu LLC. If you have any question about this policy, email support@modudahakkoya.com.
| Your selfies | Stored in the app's own private storage on your device. Never uploaded, never backed up to us, never seen by anyone else. |
|---|---|
| Your reminder schedule | The days and times you pick, stored on your device. |
| Your quiet places | The name and coordinates of each place you save, stored on your device. Never transmitted. |
Because all of this lives only on your iPhone, deleting the app deletes it permanently. Export anything you want to keep before you delete.
| Camera | To take your selfie inside the app. The camera is only ever active while you are on the capture screen. |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To send your daily reminder. The reminder is scheduled by your iPhone itself — no server sends you anything, which is also why reminders work with no internet connection. |
| Location, "Always" | Only if you choose to use quiet places. Your iPhone watches a circle around each place you save and tells the app when you arrive or leave, so reminders can go quiet there. This is a geofence: your iPhone answers a yes-or-no question about a circle you drew. Take One does not track, log, or receive your movements, and never receives a location at all. Skip quiet places and the app never asks for location. |
| Photo library | Only when you choose to save a selfie or an exported film to your own photo library. Take One does not read your existing photos. |
You can withdraw any of these at any time in Settings. The rest of the app keeps working.
To know whether the app is understandable and whether anyone finds the Studio upgrade worth buying, we collect a small number of anonymous product events — for example "the timeline screen was opened" or "the Studio screen was shown". These are processed for us by PostHog, an analytics provider.
These events never include a photo, a location, a name, an email address, a phone number, or your Apple Account. They are not linked to your identity, they are not used to build an advertising profile, and they are not sold or shared with anyone else. Take One shows no ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Studio is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details go to Apple, never to us — we only ever learn that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock. We never see your card, billing address, or Apple Account.
Take One is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing about a child for us to hold.
Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct, export, or delete the personal information a company holds about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold none: your photos, schedule, and saved places are on your device and under your control, and the anonymous product events cannot be traced back to you.
You can delete everything at any time by deleting individual photos or the app itself. To ask a question about any of this, or to request written confirmation, email support@modudahakkoya.com.
If we ever change what the app collects, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change ships. If a change were ever to be significant, the app itself would tell you.
