The short version. Your selfies stay on your iPhone and your own Apple backup, and are never sent to a server of ours. We cannot see them, we do not store them, and there is no account to sign into. The only thing we ever receive is a small, anonymous count of which screens get used — never a photo, never a location, never your name or email.

Deleting the app removes its local data. Existing Apple backups and copies you export have separate retention and deletion controls, described below.
Take One stores the selfies you choose to capture in the app's private storage on your iPhone. For Studio film alignment, Apple's Vision framework runs on your device to detect a face's bounding rectangle and rotation. The app estimates eye positions from that geometry to align the photos. This information is used only to compose your film, not to identify you, authenticate you, build a face-recognition profile, or train models.
Face geometry and alignment calculations are held in memory during processing; Take One does not save a separate face-geometry database. Take One does not upload your selfies, face geometry, or rendered films to our servers or send them to PostHog or other analytics providers. Screen recording/session replay is disabled.
Saved selfies remain in the app until you delete them, replace that day's selfie, or delete the app. Open the photo grid, press and hold a day and confirm deletion to remove one selfie. To remove all saved selfies, open the grid's More menu, choose Delete all photos, and confirm.
Rendered films are written to the app's temporary directory. They can remain there until iOS clears temporary files or you delete the app; deleting source selfies does not immediately delete previously rendered temporary films. Face-analysis values are not retained as a separate file after processing.
Your app data may be included in your own Apple device backup, depending on your backup settings. Deleting a selfie or the app does not erase existing backups or copies you previously saved or shared. Manage backups through Apple's settings and delete exported copies separately where you saved them.
Take One does not automatically share face photos or face geometry with third parties. If you choose Save or Share for a film, you direct a copy to your Photos library or the recipient/app you select in Apple's share sheet. Those copies are governed by your chosen service and its settings, including any photo-library syncing. We do not receive them. We do not sell face data or use it for advertising.

You can withdraw any of these at any time in Settings. The rest of the app keeps working.
To know whether the app is understandable and whether anyone finds the Studio upgrade worth buying, we collect a small number of anonymous product events — for example "the timeline screen was opened" or "the Studio screen was shown". These are processed for us by PostHog, an analytics provider.
These events never include a photo, a location, a name, an email address, a phone number, or your Apple Account. They are not linked to your identity, they are not used to build an advertising profile, and they are not sold or shared with anyone else. Take One shows no ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Studio is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details go to Apple, never to us — we only ever learn that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock. We never see your card, billing address, or Apple Account.
Take One is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing about a child for us to hold.
Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct, export, or delete the personal information a company holds about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold none: your photos and schedule are on your device and under your control, and the anonymous product events cannot be traced back to you.
You can delete everything at any time: press and hold any day in your timeline to delete it, use "Delete all photos", or delete the app. To ask a question about any of this, or to request written confirmation, email support@modudahakkoya.com.
If we ever change what the app collects, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the change ships. If a change were ever to be significant, the app itself would tell you.
