Common questions

My reminder didn't go off

Take One uses your iPhone's own notifications, so it needs permission. Open Settings › Notifications › Take One and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Also check that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing it, and that the day you're expecting is actually selected in the app.

My quiet places aren't working

Quiet places use a geofence — an invisible circle around a spot that lets your iPhone tell the app when you arrive or leave. That only works if location access is set to Always, because the app has to be able to notice you arriving while it's closed.

Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Take One and choose Always. If it's set to "While Using the App", reminders won't pause when you get home.

Take One never records where you go. It only ever asks your iPhone one question: am I inside a circle I saved, yes or no.

I paid for Studio but don't have it

Open the app, go to Settings › Restore Purchases, and sign in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. Studio is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account, so it restores on any iPhone you sign into — you never pay twice.

If it still doesn't appear, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.

What do I actually get for the one-time purchase?

Take One is free to use properly, not a trial: up to five reminders a day, unlimited photos, the full timeline, the ghost guide, and a clean export with no watermark.

Studio is a single $4.99 purchase — never a subscription — and it produces the finished film: your face held steady frame to frame, colour matched so it stops flickering between rooms, smooth transitions, a soundtrack, and a collage version too.

Where are my photos stored?

On your iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no account, no cloud, and no server. Deleting the app deletes the photos with it, so export anything you want to keep first.

How do I delete my photos or my data?

Delete individual photos from the timeline, or delete the app to remove everything at once. Because nothing is ever uploaded, there is nothing on our side to delete — but if you'd like written confirmation of that, just email us.

Can I get it on Android?

Not yet. Take One is iPhone-only for now, because it's built directly on Apple's own camera, notification and location features.
